Artisan-crafted with time-honored precision; Pearl Philharmonic USA Solid Shell Snare Drums are uniquely refined instruments crafted to elevate your entire approach to snare drum performance.
Beginning with select North American Ash, Cherry, Maple, or Walnut hardwoods, each Philharmonic USA Solid Shell is shaped using old-world steam-bent crafting techniques and milled to a smooth, uniform 8mm thickness and combined with Solid Maple reinforcement rings. Each shell is CNC drilled, hand-finished, and assembled at Pearl's Music City Custom Shop in Nashville, TN.

Solid Maple (PHSM)
The standard for premium, tonally centered Midrange punch and restrained overtone.
Solid Cherry (PHSC)
Slightly brighter in tone than Maple with cutting projection. Best suited for a higher velocity strike.
Solid Walnut (PHSW)
A fat growl with a naturally darker tone, the sound of Walnut is a perfect complement to its luxurious grain.
Solid Ash (PHSA)
Brighter, louder, and with the CRACK of a Homerun hit, the tonal quality of Ash is punchy with extended sustain.

An instrument that truly demands your attention, the natural beauty of the shell exterior is buffed and wax-treated by hand.

Kingwood Center Inlay
A dark, dense inlay from the exotic Brazilian Rosewood family with a rich vertical grain.
Available on all 4", 5", and 6.5" models.
Kingwood Royal Inlay
Centered Nicotine White Marine Pearl band surrounded by dual Kingwood inlay strips.
Available only on 6.5" models.
Duoband Ebony Marine Inlay
A Nicotine White Marine Pearl band surrounded by dual inlay strips of Macassar Ebony.

Features
Solid North American Shells
Meticulously formed from a steam-treated plank of premium North American Maple, Ash, Cherry, or Walnut, each shell is reinforced at each edge with 6mm solid Maple rings and hand routed with 45° bearing edges.
Custom CNC Routing
To ensure tuning precision and accurate hardware fitting, all drilling points are CNC routed.
Hand-Applied Inlays
All inlays are hand-rolled and bonded into each precisely routed fitting channel.

Pre-Finishing Shell Treatment
For a pristine finish, each Nashville Natural and inlaid shell exterior is hand-buffed before it is sealed in the final finish phase.
Hand-Rubbed Wax Finish
The final finish is hand-applied and inspected to insure nothing interferes with the natural beauty and sound of the shell.
Hardware and Shell Fittings
