In celebration three-quarters of a century of iconic drumming sounds and sciences, Pearl presents Duoluxe: modern take on a legendary, "inter-planetary" snare drum sound.
With the look and rigidity of our trademark dual inverted shell beads, Pearl takes the chrome-over-brass alloy shell of our classic Jupiter snare and inlays it with two finish bands of Nicotine White Marine Pearl. This gives the shell a singular look and adds tonal control to its unbridled sound.
Our "Battleship" Lugs, smooth SR017 Strainer, and solid 2.3mm SuperHoop II triple-flanged hoops balance out the package, for classically graceful drumming charisma.

The Return of the Jupiter Sound
Originally launched in 1974, Pearl's Jupiter snare drum quickly became a player favorite because of its pristine Chrome-Over-Brass shell, three bead design, and Parallel Action Strainer for superb sensitivity. Through the years models varied from three to two inner shell beads to both Parallel Action and Standard Strainers, but all had a lively, stunning sound. The universally desired, fully-rounded midrange snare shout of Black Nickel Over brass drums is here, but with a slightly higher fundamental pitch.
Nicotine White Marine Pearl Shell Inlays
Another Pearl first, Duoluxe features the only inlaid metal shell in the snare drum world. Our inverted two-bead shell design made famous on vintage Jupiter models is painstakingly filled with hand-cut strips of Nicotine White Marine Pearl (#405). This not only delivers a slightly tempered shell overtone, but showcases a totally unique and instantly noticeable look.
