Ben Miller

Ben F. Miller is a Professor of Music at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, where he serves as Percussion Instructor and Assistant Director of Bands. A native of Joliet, Illinois, he received his B.M.E. degree from Indiana University and M.A. and D.M.A. degrees from the University of Iowa. As Percussion Instructor he teaches applied percussion, percussion methods classes and conducts the Percussion Ensemble. As Assistant Director of Bands Dr. Miller conducts the Symphonic Band composed of university students and adults from the community and teaches instrumental conducting. As a freelance performer, Ben is active in the Tri-State region of West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky and is in demand as a guest artist/conductor, clinician and adjudicator throughout the United States. Dr. Miller is a member of the Education and University Pedagogy Committees of the Percussive Arts Society and has had a number of articles published in the "Percussive Notes" and "Bandworld" magazines
