Over the last 20 years, Drake Melson has established himself as a prominent figure in the world of music and percussion. His affiliations include The Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps, Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps, The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, The Colts Drum and Bugle Corps, The Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, Gateway Indoor Percussion, the University of Oklahoma, D2 Drumline of Australia, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and Top Secret Drum Corps of Basel, Switzerland.
He has taught, collaborated, and performed globally, sharing the stage with artists such as Nikki Glaspie (Beyoncé), Walk the Moon, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, GRiZ, and others. His work has been featured on major television networks including ABC, NBC, ESPN, Lifetime, and streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, and Apple TV.
Currently, Drake serves as a performer, instructor, designer, clinician, and adjudicator across the United States and beyond. He resides in Nashville, Tennessee, and works primarily in the innovative and emerging technology space, focusing on AR/VR and XR in STEAM education and career/technical education (CTE).
