Pissing Razors - United States
Born in the small Texas town of Fort Stockton, Eddy Garcia always knew his place would be in the music world. Since the age of 14 Eddy has played live and toured profesionally, first with a tex-mex band in a class of 20 to 30 years his senior. Always taking a professional approach to all tasks at hand. Eddy always knew he had a different calling. He played the trumpet in his school band but always was facinated by the drums. So, at the age of 17, he finally had the oppurtunity to play the drums when his cousin wanted to start a band. Not knowing who would be playing in the band his cousin bought all the gear for it. Eddy, never had been behind a kit, stepped up to the plate. It all came natural. He was hooked.
Self- taught, 20 year old Eddy then started playing professionally in cover bands. From tex-mex to rock, funk, reggae, and his favorite...METAL. After 7 years of playing in cover bands he wanted to write and record. Eddy was on a search for original musicians for years he finally got the line up he was looking for. This was the beginnig of Pissing Razors. At 27 and eager Pissing Razors were ready for world domination. From inception years of writing, recording and touring it payed off in a record deal with Noise Records. Pissing Razors went off to do 3 studio records with Noise the last which of were produced by Eddy and Sterling Winfield (of Pantera and DamagePlan) They then signed with Spitfire Records. From 2000 to 2004 Pissing Razors did 3 studio cd's all recorded and produced by Eddy.
Ministry then got in contact with Eddy and asked him to play bass for their 2004 Evil Doer Tour. An amazing experience but it was time....writing, recording and playing drums was on his mind, Speed Razor was born. Speed Razor started as a side project way back but then turned very serious after realizing it's potential. Eddy started to write and record the debut of Speed Razor with vocalist Andre Acosta. Eddy played the guitar, bass, and drums for the record and the drums were the first Pearl kit he's recorded with. Having recorded before (on other drum kits) he was very impressed with how easily the drum tones came together. For the bands that come in to record with Eddy and decide to use the Pearl kit they're always commenting on how great they sound.
So here we come to date, Eddy Garcia has a new and exciting project in the works! Being a huge Pantera fan and friend to the late Dimebag Darrell, he had been wanting to do a Pantera tribute in honor of Dime ever since his passing. They will be called Cowboys From HellPaso and shooting to be the best tribute band on the planet! With some of El Paso's best musicians they're going to tear it up with full stage, lighting, and sound prodution. An exciting time especially to be playing on his new Pearl Vision VBX.
This will be a show not to be missed!
