Overview
Drew has 20+ years of music performing experience in both live and studio settings. Not only is he a seasoned and highly educated drummer and percussionist (BA/MM), he is also a multi-instrumentalist and has collaborated with a wide variety of musicians from all genres. His education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Saginaw Valley State University and a Masters of Music Performance in Percussion from Central Michigan University.
As an educator, Drew has taught percussion in a number of high school/middle school music programs around the midwest as well as college teaching and directing. These schools include Trine University, Bowling Green State University, University of Toledo, and Owens Community College. Currently, Drew is the Director of Bands and Instructor of Percussion at Tiffin University in Tiffin, OH. He directs the Marching Band, Concert Band, Pep Band, Word on the Street (Student Funk/Fusion Band) and teaches private lessons to drumset students.
As a performer, Drew has extensive experience in almost all areas of percussion including Marching Percussion, Keyboard Percussion, Orchestral Percussion, and Drumset. He is a founding member of the Detroit based percussion quartet Rela Percussion , performed with a long list of orchestras and concert ensembles, plays drums with a number of local musicians, and is a session/studio player.
