For nearly 80 years, Pearl's dedication to drum craftsmanship and the drumming community have made us a mainstay in the lives of countless players worldwide. Pearl has set the stage in 2023 with a new era of professionally catered percussion items to further bridge the gap between you and your Instrument. This begins with the introduction of R2 Air, the world's most advanced tom suspension system. Available with a choice of Pearl's traditional 7/8" pipe or the new GyroLock-L 12mm tom holder, R2 Air suspends toms in a fully balanced four-point platform for truly unencumbered tone. Standard on our newly reimagined Reference One series, R2 Air is also comes on a choice of three different shell recipes available in an update of our legendary Masters Series. For the gigging drummer, Pearl brings a performance standard back from the 80's with Professional Maple drums in a choice of lacquered finishes and set-ups. A new Signature collaboration with legendary Pearl Artist Dennis Chambers has yielded a bold new snare drum, and pocket-focused players will love affordable new options in Midtown Series compact kits and Short Fuse auxiliary snares.

The 50/50 faceplate is half screwed on and half glued, producing an amazing resonance. Most cajon faceplates are either 100% glued on or 100% screwed on, but we discovered blending the two methods produced the best acoustics with this cajon. 3 sets of fixed snare wires positioned at the top of the cajon add to the crisp attack.
