Constructed from 6-ply, 100% aged Maple shells featuring Pearl’s Superior Shell Technology, these drums produce a solid, full-bodied bass tone with smooth sustain, warmth, and clarity.
Fully rounded bearing edges enhance low-frequency response, while 36” diameter shells are available in extended 20”, 22”, and 26” depths, providing added power and low-end presence for demanding concert settings. Pearl’s exclusive Silent Tension Lug System allows for fast, precise tuning to accommodate changing temperature and humidity conditions in the concert hall. Oversized T-handle tension rods feature coarse 8mm threads for quick, efficient adjustments, while insulation at every contact point between the rods, claws, and shell eliminates unwanted hardware rattle for quiet, controlled performance.
Durable 100% Maple hoops provide reliable, even head tension, while two acoustically positioned air vents promote optimal airflow for superior response and projection. Finished in an elegant #201 Matte Walnut Stain and equipped with Remo Fiberskyn heads, Pearl Symphonic Series Concert Bass Drums combine balanced tonal character, powerful low-end presence, and professional performance for the concert hall.

Our exclusively manufactured 6-ply 100% Maple wood shells have a smooth even texture that remains durable under a wide range of conditions and produces a lustrous finish. This highly respected acoustic wood offers a wide dynamic range and a well-balanced overtone response. Full-bodied low frequencies, with an even balance of high and mid-tones, make this shell the all-around accepted premium material in the acoustic drum industry.
Superior Shell Technology
Pearl’s Superior Shell Technology utilizes a proprietary technique for achieving the ultimate air chamber. It begins with select woods chosen for their unique acoustic attributes, milled to precise thickness with overlapping scarf joint seams for a perfect air-tight fit. The wood plies are saturated with Pearl’s proprietary “AcoustiGlue” that permeates every pore and dries to the exact consistency of the wood for optimum resonance. Finally, the plies are formed in high-temperature molds with 1000 PSI of hydraulic pressure to produce perfect drum shells that exhibit superior tone, optimal resonance and extreme strength.
Silent Tension Lug System
Tuning is fast and easy with Pearl’s exclusive Silent Tension Lug System. Each oversized T-handle lug and claw is insulated at every contact point with itself and the shell to minimize drum rattle. 8mm thick tuning rods have coarse threads enabling quick adjustments for temperature and humidity in the hall.
