Founded in 2014 and based in Salt Lake City, Utah, The Battalion is a nationally touring drum and bugle corps composed entirely of brass, percussion, and color guard performers under the age of 22. Each summer, the corps travels over 8,000 miles as part of the Drum Corps International (DCI) Tour, performing at premier events across the country. 

Since its inaugural tour in 2016, The Battalion has experienced rapid growth—from a regional ensemble to a DCI World Championship Semi-Finalist in 2024. The organization is dedicated to providing youth with world-class performance opportunities in a safe, supportive, and education-centered environment. 

The Battalion is incorporated in the State of Utah and is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, governed by an independent Board of Directors.
