Steven Sweet
Warrant
Overview
The second of three sons, Steven was raised in a very musical home. In addition to having an accomplished Research Chemist father and School Teacher mother, Steven’s parents were also Chorus Singers for the Akron Symphony Orchestra Chorus in Akron, Ohio.
Growing up in a house where everyone sang and played multiple instruments fueled Steven’s desire to pursue music from a very early age.
At age 15, Steven played his first paying gig at the local dive bar, cementing his career choice to be a drummer forever.
In 1988, the band WARRANT would be given a recording contract with Columbia/CBS Records, 10 million sales worldwide. This pivotal opportunity opened the doors for international success, allowing Steven to showcase his subtle, yet unorthodox playing style. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Simon Phillips, Rod Morgenstein, Neal Peart and Steve Smith, Steven’s own blend of Rock, Fusion and Jazz influenced playing is what makes him a drummers drummer.
WARRANT continues to tour and record new material, though it is the “Classic Warrant” catalogue that continues to excite and draw fans to their, always-energetic shows.
