Shawn Crowder is a Berlin-based drummer, best known for his work with Sungazer. Originally formed in 2014 in Brooklyn, New York, Sungazer has brought their dynamic mixture of jazz, progressive metal and electronic music to audiences around the world.

After moving to New York City in 2010, Shawn worked as an in-demand drummer on countless recordings, shows, and tours. He performed throughout the US, Europe, North Africa, Middle East, South America and Australia with singer-songwriter Emel Mathlouthi and was a member of the PLS.trio whose 2015 album "East River" was nominated for Best Debut Album and Best New Release in the NPR Jazz Critics Poll.

Shawn is the co-author of two books with Mike Mangini (Rhythm Knowledge Volumes 3 and 4) and is a prominent music educator online. He is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music, where he studied under Mike Mangini and later become a guest faculty member for five years at the annual Berklee Percussion Festival.

Since 2018, Shawn has resided in Berlin, Germany, where he continues to push boundaries within both the local and international music scenes.
