Jarah Jane is a musician who diffuses her talents through various instrumental mediums.
Drummer / Drum Educator / Singer / Songwriter / Guitarist who has written and composed 5 of her
own albums, titled; “Chocolate Milk,” “Preview,” “Blue,” “Underwater Balloons,” and “Personal.”
A look back.
In 1999, Jarah won the Lilith Fair singing contest, (a concert tour and traveling music festival, founded
by Canadian musician Sarah McLachlan) and got the chance to be one of the acts to open the Lilith
Fair show in Detroit. She was also invited by Sarah McLachlan to share the stage for the show’s
closing song, joining Sarah, Sheryl Crow, Nelly Furtado, Dixie Chics, Queen Latifah and Susan
Tedeschi to name a few.
After years of plying hundreds of shows, she finally decides to go back to playing drums, the
instrument she had set aside when she was only 16 years of age. Joining various band projects with her
husband, multi talented (Singer, Songwriter, Drummer, Guitarist,) Stef Dumont. During that time, she
was also hosting her own YouTube show “Drum Share News,” interviewing local and bigger named
drummers such as Benny Greb, Anika Niles, Tommy Aldridge and Pete Locket to name a few.
Jarah is now a Berklee Student working towards her professional Drum Certificate that will be awarded
to her in July 2021.
Her current and future plans are to continue to educate other drummers, create more albums and to take
advantage of other musical opportunities that life has to offer her.
