Overview

Born in Brentwood, NY, Felix Reyes is Managing Director of Pathos Trio and is a freelance chamber musician/percussionist living in Brooklyn, NY. He has performed all over the United States and several countries abroad, including Germany, Poland, Spain, Japan, Switzerland, and El Salvador. He most recently became Artist Director of international percussion group Symmetrio, which is based out of Alicante, Spain. 

 

Felix graduated with his Master's in Percussion Performance from Bowling Green State University under the direction of marimba specialist Dr, Isabelle Huang and furthering his specialization on marimba performance, Felix also studied privately under Katarzyna Mycka, Ney Roauro, and in 2016 received a Diploma in Marimba Performance at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Sengawa, Japan, where he studied with marimba legend/virtuoso Keiko Abe.

 

Since then Felix has performed all across NYC in venues such as The DiMenna Center for Classic Music, Roulette Intermedium, National Sawdust, Kaufman Music Center, and had made his solo Lincln Center debut in May 2018 alongside Swiss percussion soloist Fabian Ziegler. Over the course of his career Felix has worked and collaborated with countless acclaimed international artists/composers including all members of Sō Percussion, Michael Colgaass, Dai Fujukura, Jennifer Hidgon, Kaoru Watanabe, and Christos Hatzis.

 

His current activities outside of Pathos Trio include working as a Studio Manager for Grammy Nominated Percussion Quartet Sandbox Percussion, and working as a freelance Grant Writer for various NYC nonprofits. Felix is a proud endorser of Pearl/Adams, Sabian Cymbals, and Vic Firth sticks and mallets.
