Dukwon Seo is one of the Korea's leading Jazz drummer. 
He has performed extensively since the mid-1990s with many Jazz bands and participated in myriad recordings and live sessions. 

In 2004, Seo formed his own jazz trio named "Gentle Rain", with Hocheol Kim on contrabass Hangeul Choi on piano. 
Gentle Rain is currently the most famous jazz trio in Korea and has released six albums, with Seo participating as composer, arranger, drummer and producer. (Web-page : www.triogentlerain.co.kr) 

Seo was named Korea's Top Jazz Drummer in the 2011 Readers Poll by the Korean magazine Jazz People. 

As well as being an accomplished jazz drummer, he is also very famous as a scholar.
He has been teaching students at universities for over 20 years. 
He currently teaches drums, ensemble and rhythm reading in Jazz departments at various universities around Korea.

His books, "Jazz Rhythm"(Rhythm Training Textbook) was published in August 2014 and "Jazz Drum Bible" was published in February 2022.
He has held many jazz drum clinics and book concerts.
