Overview
Brian Howerton is the Executive Director/Founder/Arranger/Designer for the Vegas Vanguard Percussion Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Howerton also is the instructor and arranger for marching percussion at The University of Nevada Las Vegas (U.N.L.V.), and has been teaching marching percussion in Las Vegas for the past 13 years at various high schools across the valley.
Howerton was a member of the 1995, 1996 and 1997 U.N.L.V. Indoor Percussion Ensembles, winning the Gold metal in the W.G.I. College Class World Championship in 1997, all under the direction of Brian S. Mason.
Brian Howerton also founded the Vegas Vanguard Entertainment Drumline, which performs at various shows, conventions, movie premiers, and events on the Las Vegas Strip, performing for such stars as Keith Urban, Tony Braxton, Floyd Mayweather, and Paris Hilton. While attending The University of Nevada Las Vegas, Howerton performed in the marching percussion section of the Star of Nevada Marching Band for several years and received his bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications and Criminal Justice.
