Pearl's Rope Tuned Wood Ashiko features a beautiful hand-painted tribal finish. The origin of Ashiko drums can be traced back to West Africa and the Yoruba tribe. The Ashiko is a close relative to the djembe and its sound is complementary to the djembe when played together in drum circles or ensembles. The long tapered cylinder of the Ashiko produces lower bass notes than djembes, with rich mid-tones. Carved from a solid Mahogany log, the Pearl Ashiko is 22" tall and features a 12" goat skin head. 14 EZ Twist Rope Tuners are attached, allowing you to raise the drum's pitch quickly. 

Handpans are musical instruments that are a subset of the steelpan. The beautiful tonal characteristics will remind you of steel drums, but handpans are played by hand, with no sticks or mallets, so the sound has reduced attack and each note swells in response to your finger strikes.

The Pearl Handpan Bag is designed to hold and protect a 22" handpan. The padded backpack-style bag is made from heavy-duty nylon with PVC supports and sherpa lining for total protection. Padded and adjustable straps make it comfortable to carry.

Pearl offers two stand options for the Melodic and Euphonic Handpans. The table top donut stand is designed for the seated player while the tripod floor stand puts the handpan at the perfect level for the standing player. Both stands allow the handpan to resonate freely.

Most modern conga belly circumferences measure 42” at their widest, while these fiberglass shell congas feature a Cuban-style width, with the Quinto, Conga, and Tumba waist lines measuring 48”, 50”, and 52” respectively, to give these drums a very deep and dynamic punch.
