自幼受父母影响热爱音乐，14岁开始学习爵士鼓，初高中学生时代以乐队为主活跃在舞台，18岁考入四川音乐学院，19岁赴京拜师张炅先生，随张炅先生全日制职业学习爵士鼓5年，24岁留学日本神户甲阳音乐学院研习爵士。

毕业归国后创办个人音乐工作室東堂鼓塾Drum&Music Studio，投身爵士鼓音乐教育的同时也活跃在国内一线演奏和大赛赛场、参与评委工作，开展个人爵士鼓巡回专场演奏&讲座。

2019年签约 Pearl 鼓国际代言人，次年赴美NAMM SHOW并于现场签约 Sabian 镲片国际代言人。

Influenced by parents, Sun has the ardent passion in music since childhood. Sun began learning jazz drums at the age of 14. In his junior and senior high school years, he was enlivening on the stage with bands. At age 18, he entered the Sichuan Conservatory of Music to further his study. One year later, he went to Beijing to study jazz drums full-time with Mr. Zhang Jiong for five years. Then he studied jazz at Koyo Conservatory of Music at his 24.

After graduating and returning to China, he founded his own music studio DongTang Drum & Music Studio. While devoting himself to jazz drum education, Sun is also active in the domestic front-line performance and competitions participating in the jury work and conducting solo drum tours, special performances and lectures.

In 2019, he signed the international spokesperson with Pearl Drums. The following year, he went to the NAMM SHOW in the United States and signed up to become an international spokesperson with the cymbal brand Sabian on the spot.
