Overview
Jai Row Kavi is one of the most in-demand drummers in India. He has been a professional drummer for the past 18 years. He is known for his versatility and skill .He is proficient as a Rock
,heavy metal, Pop, and RnB drummer.
Born and raised in Mumbai, India, he has been part of some of the biggest and most well known independent acts in the music scene.
He has played for Hip hop artist Divine, Karsh Kale ,Pentagram, Zero, Pin Drop Violence, Helga’s fun castle, Pangea, Shaair n Func, Indus Creed and many more.
Currently he is playing with the band Blackstratblues, founded by ace guitarist Warren Mendonsa. They are on tour and have recently released their Fifth Album titled “When It’s Time”.
Jai has also played live or in the studio with numerous Bollywood artists and composers. Namely - Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Vishal and Shekhar, Ram Sampath, Hitesh Sonik, Bappi Lahiri, Farhan Akhtar, Amaal Malik, Kailash Kher, Sachin and Jigar, Sunny MR, Shalmali and Arijit Singh.
He is currently touring extensively with Indian playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan and Bollywood composer Amit Trivedi.
His work with independent and big name Bollywood musicians has taken him all across the country and the globe.
Jai has been part of numerous film recordings. His work has been featured in films like Rock on 2, Bhaag milka bhaag, Dear Zindagi, Secret superstar, Tiger zinda hai to name a few.
He has been featured on MTV unplugged with Diljit Dosanjh and Coke Studio with Karsh Kale and Ram Sampath.
Jai Studied Drums at the prestigious Musicians Institute (Hollywood, California) where he majored in percussion and studied with greats Rob Carson, Donny Gruendler, Andy Megna, Jeff Bowders - an experience that he considers invaluable even today.
Apart from Performing live with bands, Jai is a clinician and an educator and frequently holds Drum workshops around the country, teaching and mentoring up and coming drummers.
Recently, he set up his own drum facility where he records and teaches private lessons.
