Overview

Simon Michael, born in 1984, grew up in the picturesque Franconian region. He attended the Herder Gymnasium in Forchheim, a school renowned for its music program. There, he received training in piano and percussion, specifically classical drums, and was also a part of the advanced class at the Erlangen Music Institute. After completing his high school education, Simon embarked on a freelance career in 2003.

Beginning in 2005, Simon became the drummer for the band Subway To Sally. Over the following years, he achieved considerable success with the band, frequently appearing in the top 10 of the German album charts. His music career took him on numerous tours, both within Germany and internationally, to countries including Russia, Spain, the USA, and even the People's Republic of China. A highlight came in 2008 when Subway To Sally won the Bundesvision Song Contest, hosted by Stefan Raab. In 2012, Simon celebrated the band's 20th anniversary with his fellow band members.

In addition to his drumming career, Simon also found success as a producer, composer, and studio musician. This led him to expand his professional horizons, and in 2011, he relocated to the newly established Great Hall Studio in Ebermannstadt, Franconia. His studio has been the birthplace of projects for artists such as Letzte Instanz, Paul Maar, Capella Antique Bambergensis, Coppelius, Maerzfeld, Faun, Santiano, Feuerschwanz, and many others. Notably, it is also where his own bands' music is produced. One of his notable achievements was in 2013, when his production, “Das Fliegende Kamel,” was honored with the “Preis Der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik” (German Record Critics' Award).
