Crafted by a singular artisan with time-refined precision, Pearl Music City Custom Solid Shell Snare Drums are uniquely-refined percussion instruments crafted to elevate your entire approach to drums and drumming.
Beginning with a steam-treated plank of premium North American hardwood, each Music City Custom solid shell is shaped using an old-world crafting technique derived from ship-building.
Hand-milled to a smooth, uniform 8mm thickness and combined with Solid Maple reinforcement rings, each shell is CNC drilled, hand-finished, and assembled at Pearl's Music City Custom Shop in Nashville, TN.
Finally, each snare is adorned with our elegant single STL swivel lugs, Stainless Steel rods, and SuperHoop II triple-flanged hoops for precise tuning and playability.
The distinctive tonal nature of these one-of-a kind instruments makes each Music City Custom Solid Shell snare drum truly unique, and a true an investment in the ultimate drumming voice.

Solid Maple
The standard for premium, tonally centered Midrange punch and restrained overtone.
Solid Cherry
Slightly brighter in tone than Maple with cutting projection. Best suited for a higher velocity strike.
Solid Walnut
A fat growl with a naturally darker tone, the sound of Walnut is a perfect complement to its luxurious grain.
Solid Ash
Brighter, louder, and with the CRACK of a Homerun hit, the tonal quality of Ash is punchy with extended sustain.

Nashville Natural Finish
An instrument that truly demands your attention, the natural beauty of the shell exterior is buffed and wax-treated by hand.
Kingwood Center Inlay
A dark, dense inlay from the exotic Brazilian Rosewood family with a rich vertical grain. Available on all 5" and 6.5" models.
Kingwood Royal Inlay
Centered Nicotine White Marine Pearl band surrounded by dual Kingwood inlay strips. Available only on 6.5" models.
Duoband Ebony Marine Inlay
A Nicotine White Marine Pearl band surrounded by dual inlay strips of Macassar Ebony. Available only on 6.5" models.

Features
A Choice of Solid North American Shells.
Meticulously formed from a steam-treated plank of premium North American Maple, Ash, Cherry, or Walnut, each shell is reinforced at each edge with 6mm solid Maple rings and hand routed with 45-degree bearing edges.
Custom CNC Routing
To ensure tuning precision and accurate hardware fitting, all drilling points are CNC routed.
Hand-Applied Inlays.
All inlays are hand-rolled and bonded into each precisely routed fitting channel.

Pre-Finishing Shell Treatment
For a pristine finish, each Nashville Natural and inlaid shell exterior is hand-buffed before it is sealed in the final finish phase.
Hand-Rubbed Wax Finish
The final finish is hand-applied and inspected to insure nothing interferes with the natural beauty and sound of the shell.
Hardware and Shell Fittings.
Final assembly features our STL150 Swivel Lugs and Stainless Steel tension rods of secure tuning accuracy, the effortless SR017 Snare Strainer, Ultra-Sound snare wires, and 2.3mm Superhoop II Triple-Flanged hoops.

Presenting Music City Custom Craftsman Select Solid Shell Snares. With our commitment to constant quality advancement comes the need to experiment. As diverse inlays and new finish techniques are tested, refined, and developed, experimentation becomes inspiration for drums that stray from our stock recipe Solid Shell models.
Each one-of-a-kind Craftsman-Select drum is the result of this creative process and features a finish and inlay combination that is totally unique to its selected shell.
As this process yields a very limited array of completed drums, each is the only one of its kind and is only available exclusively through select Pearl Dealers in the USA.
