Overview

Stefano Marazzi began playing drums as a child and received his first drum kit from his parents at the age of 13.

 

He studied for many years with some of the most sought-after Italian session men, developing his musical versatility and his technical skill.

In 2003 he won the “Tempi Moderni” drumming competition in the ‘Emerging Talent’ section, with two of his own tracks.

 

Over the years, he has played with many artists from a wide variety of genres.

 

He has performed on numerous albums, television shows, film soundtracks, theatre productions, and live tours, collaborating occasionally (during TV or theater shows), with some of the best Italian pop artists such as:

 

Claudio Baglioni, Gigi D’Alessio, Antonello Venditti, Renato Zero, Fiorella Mannoia, Samuele Bersani, Biagio Antonacci, Antonella Ruggiero, Patty Pravo, Fabio Concato, Ron, Mango, Chiara Civello, Emma Marrone, Simone Cristicchi, Alessandra Amoroso, Valerio Scanu, Irene Fornaciari, Paolo Belli and many others.

 

He has also played on live, tours and on recording sessions with:

Stefano Marazzi is also a respected drum tutor:

From 2004 to 2007, he taught at the prestigious Università della Musica school in Rome, where he was also didactic coordinator.

From 2005 to 2007, he taught at the Vittorio Nocenzi Musicorienta music school.

 

From 2011 to 2012, he works as didactic coordinator for the UNIVERSITA’ POPOLARE of ART and ENTERTAINMENT run by Rockland and Arte Futura

Currently he is a drum tutor at the following schools:

CENTRO OTTAVA and PERCENTOMUSICA.

He also teaches privately in his own studio.

He has held various clinics and teaching seminars, published several articles in specialized magazines and web portals for drummers.

Vinnie Colaiuta, Omar Hakim, Alfredo Golino

 

Who in your mind are the drummers of tomorrow, who has caught your eye?

Every guy who want to say something with the drum, and every drummer who spend a lot of time to make it real

 

What do you like most about being a drummer?

I feel something positive every time I hold the drumsticks in my hands

 

What is the worst thing to happen to you during a show?

I broke the bass drum head

 

What do you practice and for how long?

Rudiments for years and years

 

What is your best advice to a young player wanting to make it in this industry?

Have patience and work hard.

 

If you had the chance to play drums for another artist who would it be?

Sting
