Overview

Mark Hammons has been intensively involved with the percussion community in the Central Valley of California since the mid 90's. His performance resume includes  years at Clovis High School (Snare 1992-1996), a year in the Blue Devils organization (BDB Snare 94) as well as two years with the Fresno State Marching Band (1996-1997).

 

He has arranged for & instructed high schools all over the valley since 1996.  Mark currently serves as the caption head and arranger for Clovis East High School and has been involved with the school since 1999.  He's also instructed Clovis High School (1996-2001, 2003-2004),  Clark Intermediate and Reyburn Intermediate throughout the Fresno/Clovis area. He has also serves as a clinician for other high schools throughout the state. His performance ensembles have won numerous state and local awards including a WGI World Championship for Clovis East High School (2003). Mark also established Propel Percussion, Fresno's first Independent drumlin.  Mark has had the privilege to learn from some of the finest in the activity including Allan Kristensen, Gary Gilroy, Shawn Glyde and Dave Krepp to name a few.  Mark has been judging the Bakersfield percussion circuit since 2005, and currently helps run the San Joaquin Valley Percussion circuit (www.sjvcgpr.org).

 

Mark lives in the Fresno area with his wife and two children.
