Overview

Chris Parker is a percussion performer, instructor, arranger, and administrator based in Atlanta, Georgia. Chris is one of the co-creators of Apex Percussion along with Jake Lyons. His goal has been to bring percussion music to the forefront of today's culture through a mix of viral videos, covers to popular songs, and standard but engaging percussion literature.

 

Chris currently sits on the Board of Directors for Equinox Percussion, Inc. which competes in the Percussion Independent World class of Winter Guard International. He has also filled the roles of Associate Director and Chief Financial Officer in his 5 years with the organization. Additionally, Chris had the honor to help organize, lead, and perform with the group in the Super Bowl LIII Halftime show, playing on Pearl Drums for millions of viewers and fans. 

 

Chris Parker is a graduate of Sullivan South High School and Tennessee Tech. With multiple world champions in the marching activity and 4 doctoral professors teaching him, he has gained knowledge from both the concert and marching percussion world to create his unique sound and approach to everything he plays. Chris has been a performer for Odyssey Percussion Theatre, Spirit of Atlanta, Phantom Regiment, and Music City Mystique, placing in World Class Finals 4 times through his career. He has been on instructional staff with Spirit of Atlanta, Music City Drum Corps, Palmetto Percussion, and several high schools across the southeast. As an alumnus of Tennessee Tech, Chris had the privilege of arranging several pieces for the Tennessee Tech Drumline, perform countless world and continental premieres with the Tennessee Tech Percussion Ensemble, and perform at PASIC twice with the Tennessee Tech Percussion Ensemble. 

 

Chris graduated from Tennessee Tech in 2017 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and works as a Loss Prevention Consultant. In this free time, Chris enjoys extreme endurance challenges, training for said challenges, and practicing for his next YouTube video.
