Overview
Torsten has built a respected career as an independent professional drummer, showcasing his versatility across genres such as rock, pop, metal, fusion, and R&B, both live and in the studio. His dynamic playing has supported artists including Romy Conzen, Thomas Godoj, Wirtz, DARI, Mo-Torres, Micky Brühl Band, and Cat Ballou, among many others.
Highlights of Torsten's touring career include performing major concerts across Germany, Austria, Poland, and Switzerland with Thomas Godoj, as well as international tours from 2002 to 2004 with Drum’n’Didg - a drum'n'bass project based around drums and didgeridoo—which took him to stages in Germany, Italy, Poland, Estonia, France, Spain, and the USA.
Drawing on extensive experience recording in numerous studios across Germany, Torsten established his own drum studio in 2014, offering professional drum recording and programming services.
Torsten’s preference for Pearl Drums stems from their exceptional reliability and unmatched sound quality, suited perfectly to any musical style. He appreciates their smooth pedals, durable hardware, and also acknowledges inspiration from iconic Pearl artist Jeff Porcaro. Alongside Porcaro, his influences include renowned drummers Gavin Harrison, Mike Mangini, Gerald Hayward, and Simon Phillips.
Torsten believes strongly in embracing a wide range of musical influences and encourages young drummers to explore diverse musical styles and deeply enjoy their craft.
