Mark Miller
StikYard
Overview
Mark Miller is founder and director of StikYard, a theatrical percussion group. Incorporating manufactured equipment alongside whimsical contraptions and custom-built pieces, the group also fuses different musical styles and techniques that entertain a wide range of audiences. Born out of a Christmas production that yielded 40k in attendance, Mark has since taken it on the road for corporate events, churches, the NBA, and conferences.
Prior to StikYard, Mark’s professional carrier evolved from teaching and gigging in the St. Louis area for about a decade, to performing for several contemporary Christian artists, such as Joy Williams, Watermark, Mark Shultz, and touring worship band drummer for Joyce Meyer Ministries. He resides in Nashville, TN, but commutes to St. Louis for StikYard.
Mark’s educational background centered around private study with several teachers, clinics, and camps since he was 10 years old, with one of his favorite teachers being Tom Stubbs of the St. Louis Symphony orchestra. He holds a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Jazz Performance from Southern Illinois University.
