For as long as Jonny can remember, he had a passionate desire to use music as a way to bring hope and inspiration to those around him. Jonny picked up the drums in Grade 7 and spent many years playing shows and touring across North America, honing his trade. After playing for over 10 years he felt something was missing and craved doing more to give back with music. In 2009 Jonny teamed up with Robb Nash, a singer/songwriter who had recently walked away from a successful music career to embark on a solo tour of prisons, schools and reserves. Together, they created a rock-concert experience with a focus on mental health related subjects such as suicide, addiction, anxiety and bullying. Over the course of 10 years, they have performed over 1200 shows to over half a million young people from coast to coast. They have witnessed over 900 kids hand in their suicide notes after their concert – a testament to how powerful and needed their message is. The Robb Nash Project aims to empower young people through the use of stories and song to bring them hope and inspire them to realize their significance in this world.
