e/MERGE-Artist kit

Artist kit Collection

One of the biggest reason why leading artist established their status as elite drummers, is simply a well-honed "sensibility" for their exceptional sound making ability. But, often the artist’s thought process can be a mystery. We invited several cutting edge artists, and asked them to create their own unique and creative sounds by utilizing e/MERGE. The "Artist Collection" kits created by these leading artists can be downloaded below and reproduced in your own e/MERGE. Their sounds are no longer a mystery. These special sounds created from an infinite number of combinations based on their personal experience and sensibility will surely enrich your e/MERGE experience.
(Additional artist kits will be coming soon.)

TOSHI NAGAI (GLAY)

The sound I wanted to achieve comes from 60’s to 70’s music.
It was not easy to bring them back by utilizing the acoustic drums, due to the adjustment of settings. Such as the drumkit, microphone, studio location, and especially the nuance of the sound. Though, I thought e/MERGE is a dream kit to achieve this goal.
As a result, the sound genre became like a ballade music but also usable in the hard rock. It has become the sound which I could strongly say “This is the TOSHI NAGAI’s drums!” So, I strongly wish you to download and try it out.

The custom kit I've designed on the eMerge gives me an organic, crystal clear sound. I wanted my kit to be uniquely raw, and maintain plenty of character. But at the same time, I didn't want the kit to be so artistic that it's difficult to use in a variety of settings. My custom mix uses some of the dirtiest cymbals in the eMerge library, combined with ultra clean tom sounds, a punchy modern kick, and a super bright snare. This combo gives me a complex and expressive voice that I can use for funk, pop, hi-hop, and more!

Jun-ji (BULL ZEICHEN 88)

Jun-ji 1
I have attempted so many times to achieve the beat that gives a sense of speed for the kick and the snare sound. For the toms, it is well characterized with their lightness and its pitch. I also paid through attention to the compressor settings, too.

This tone was created after the unprecedented challenge of creating a sound during a YouTube live broadcast, which could not be redone. This kit is a collection of "Samba" and "Latin" sounds that I imagined.

Dirk Brand (Axxis / Subsignal)

Dirk Brand 1 (Preset kit Legacy based Artist kit . This kit is explained as Legacy DB in the Video)
To built this kit I had in mind to create a drum kit which sounded punchy in the headphone mix and at the time powerful and in the face to Front of House Mix! I wanted to achieve a modern sound which is suitable in many music genres! The snare drum is beefy and the kick drum pumps the heartbeat! My custom kit blends perfect in a Pop- or Rock Setting and will stuck from the mass. Play with the ambience fader to give my drum kit your personal touch!

Dirk Brand 2. (Preset kit Frist Call Based Artist kit)
DB In the creation process of this kit I wanted to have a more dry and dark sound! The bass drum shouldn’t stuck that much out in the mix. This drum kit is a little more on the old school side of sound. Notice the efx Cymbal on Crash 1 which gives a special note to the kit. The hole kit is great for delicate playing and when playing to a song it adds a special vibe to it!

SHINYA (LUNA SEA)

My custom kit features one “killer” tone that I can play entirely through the show, a tone that is suitable in all music styles from the slowest to fastest tracks.

Jason Bowld (Bullet For My Valentine)

My custom e/MERGE kit is all about matching the power of my live and studio kit and making it mix-ready for any accompanying Rock or Metal track.
The toms cut through a wall of guitars but retain warmth to create a fat, cannon-like sound. These are tuned to match my own personal tunings which is the same for studio and live.
The snare drum cracks, but again the bottom end and weight isn’t sacrificed which is very important and makes for a versatile snare drum at different tempos.
The bass drum slaps enough to cut through and is deliberately mixed the loudest in the kit which is a common mixing method with a lot of metal bands.
And finally, the whole kit features Paiste cymbals that closely match my own setup.
To summarise, the ‘Bowld’ is a versatile, heavy kit that balances an organic sound and high end processing to meet the demands of Modern Metal or Rock.
