Matt Brooks is a completely self-taught drummer whose musical journey began by playing in church. At age 11, his passion was permanently ignited after seeing his future mentor, Marvin McQuitty, perform on a Pearl Masters kit. Today, Brooks is best known as the long-time drummer for the acclaimed artist RAYE, having toured with her for nearly a decade as they grew from playing small, intimate venues to massive, sold-out arenas.

As a Pearl Drums artist, he relies on the President Series Deluxe kit for both high-profile live shows and studio sessions, specifically selecting it for its authentic vintage sound and aesthetic. Guided by his personal motto that "it's nice to be important, but it's way more important to be nice", Brooks balances the demands of touring with his dedication to his family and consistently makes time to encourage and inspire the next generation of musicians.
