Mark Escueta
Rivermaya
Overview
Mark Escueta was born on January 9, 1976 in Manila and is a founding member of one of the most prolific and successful bands in the Philippines - Rivermaya.
His drumming career started in 1989 when he was in first year highschool at De La Salle Zobel.
He eventually joined the DLSZ Concert Band throughout highschool. In college he joined the De La Salle University Pops Orchestra for a year, until eventually joining Rivermaya in 1993.
In 1994, Rivermaya launched their debut album and went on to release 12 studio albums, several EPs and singles. They have been actively touring the Philippines and around the world for 3 decades now.
In 2022, Mark was voted into the Board of Trustees of the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Inc. (FILSCAP) and is now on his second term until 2026.
Beyond his work with Rivermaya, Mark has also performed live and recorded with numerous artists including Pinikpikan, Cynthia Alexander, Mojofly, Spy, Slapshock, Ito Rapadas, Gloc-9, Cedric Escobar, Jolina Magdangal, Electrico, China Crisis & The Lotus Eaters, either as drummer or percussionist.
