Julián Gondell
Vanthra
Overview
Julián Gondell is a 26-year-old drummer born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is currently part of Vanthra, a trio that he shares with Charlie Noguera (bass / keyboards) and Fernando Ruiz Diaz (Guitar / voice)
He began playing drums at age 10 and in his teens he put together his first band, Shut Up Mark. There he cultivated his punk essence of approaching the instrument. From the beginning, he studied with Gabriel Spiller (The Time Bomb), Lulo Isod (Virus, Ciro and the Persians) and Sergio Verdinelli (Spinetta, Fito Paez, IKV)
In 2019 he was called by Fernando Ruiz Diaz (Vanthra / Catupecu Machu) to join his new project where a tribal and primitive sound coexists, with stoners and modern drums.
His idols range from Steward Copeland (The Police), Matt Helders (Arctic Monkeys) and Abril Sosa (Catupecu Machu), to Tony Williams, Steve Jordan and Ringo Starr.
