Jess Maio is a Melbourne-based drummer and songwriter who performs in the bands Ramona Sky and Hot Machine. After picking up the drums at age 10 in 2007, she grew up playing in multiple school bands and quickly developed a passion for live performance.

In 2020, she co-founded alt-rock band Ramona Sky, where she plays drums, sings backing vocals, and manages the band. Known for their groove-driven sound and energetic live performances, Ramona Sky have shared stages with You Am I, Pacific Avenue, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and The Terrys, among others. In 2022, the band were nominated for Best Group at the Music Victoria Awards.
 

In 2023, Jess joined all-female rock ’n’ roll band Hot Machine, whose nostalgia-driven sound draws inspiration from the classic rock era of the 70s and 80s. The band has previously toured internationally in Japan and New Zealand and has opened for acts including Rose Tattoo, Wolfmother and Cherie Currie of The Runaways to name a few.
 

Jess has also mentored young female musicians learning to perform live through YoWo Music in 2022 and 2023, and continues to perform and write with both of her bands.
