Artist Interview:

What is it you like so much about playing Pearl Drums?

My first kit was a Pearl Export, and I’ve stayed with them ever since! I’m very grateful to be endorsed by them with their percussion products and have found that whatever musical situation I have found myself in Pearl have been able to provide the percussion product that I need. Whether in the studio or live Pearl deliver a sound quality superior to other brands and withstand the demands of touring.

Which Drummer or band influenced you most into playing Drums?

Manu Kache playing with Peter Gabriel.

What do you like most about being a drummer?

Holding down the groove and making people dance!

What is the worst thing to happen to you during a show?

The drum stool (with me on it) falling off the back of the stage!!

What do you practice and for how long?

I practice whatever the gig I’m doing at the time demands for around 4 hours a so a day.

What is your best advice to a young player wanting to make it in this industry?

Stay focused and aware that being a successful musician is about more than just being a great player. Be grateful for opportunities and the time and encouragement other players share and give to you.

If you had the chance to play drums for another artist who would it be?

Peter Gabriel – his shows and music have inspired me for years. His appreciation, respect and inclusion of artists from around the world is inspiring both musically and creatively.
