Overview
Tony Oliverisapercussionist and educator based in the Quad Cities region of Iowa and Illinois. An active performer, he is a member of the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, and he returns every summer to perform as solo percussionist and timpanist for the Lake Placid Sinfonietta, a professional chamber orchestra in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York. As an educator, heoversees all things percussive at Augustana Collegein Rock Island, Illinois, including classical and contemporary percussionlessons, courses for music educators, andtheAugustanaPercussion Ensembles.He hasdegrees from the University of Iowa (BM, MA) and the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University (DMA), where he was a graduate fellow. He is proprietor of Curving Walkway Publications, a distributor of his own and colleague’s works for percussion, and aregional education artist with Pearl/Adams percussion.
