Pearl Hybrid Exotic Kapur/Fiberglass snare drums blend the warmer properties of its 6-ply shell with the bright, controlled frequencies of a thin layer of hand-applied Fiberglass. The resulting shell produces rich, warm stick definition with added crack and projection.
Available in three sizes, Kapur/Fiberglass snares are available in (#308) Ebony Lacquer w/Pearloid Inlay. All Hybrid Exotic Snare Drums are equipped with Pearl’s acclaimed SuperHoop II hoops, STL100 lugs, SR1000 strainer, Coated Remo Ambassador batter head, and Spin-Tight Tension Rods.
To maintain tuning tension across the batter head, all Hybrid Exotic snare drums feature Pearl’s new Spin-Tight Tension Rods. This elegantly simple innovation creates a tension rod-within-a-tension rod, that allows the rod to expand and lock into place within the swivel nut. Utilizing a special drum key, tunings can be controlled under high-impact play like never before. (Patent Pending)

6-ply 7.5mm Kapur/Fiberglass Shell
A hand-applied inner layer of Fiberglass gives a top-end spike to the darker tonal characteristics of the Kapur wood shell. Available in (#308) Ebony Lacquer w/Pearloid Inlay.
SuperHoop II Hoops
Optimum 2.3mm Triple-Flange hoops made for tuning integrity and maximum shell resonance in play.
SpinTight Tension Rods
This innovative and efficient "tension rod-within-a-tension rod" allows the rod to expand and lock into place within the swivel nut. Utilizing a special drum key, tunings can be controlled under high-impact play like never before. (Patent Pending)
Single STL Lugs
Pearl's lightest and most efficient tuning lug's floating swivel nut reduces hardware friction, contact, and weight while improving tuning and head tension.
Glide-Lock Strainer
(US Patent #7220905, #7301087, #7365256.) Pearl’s SR1000 Strainer includes a locking throw off lever and separate tension knob that won’t loosen no matter how hard you play. This low-friction technology permits smooth gliding action for ultra quiet, super precise motion.
