The most elegant French rock band is back. Like the three Galilean kings these five chic, refined guys from Elmer Food Beatwield their staffs with ease. They have fired our mischievous imaginations since the band was formed in Nantesin 1986. Relentless fans of sex without complex and with latex, writers of the salubrious hit Le Plastique est Fantastique (Plastic is Fantastic) they have rocked the beaches and obscure venues of France to the sound of La Caissière de Chez Leclerc (The Supermarket Checkout Girl) and have confessed to what they appreciate about Daniela, Linda, Brigitte, Caroline and Madame l'Infirmière (TheNurse). All of these songs were nestled in the celebrated LP « 30cm » which was passed around surreptitiously at school. The result : Hundreds of concerts, autographssigned on tanned naked breasts and three studio albums, a live album and several compilations selling over a million copies. Other exploits by these beach pirates include a double gold record which was presented to them at a sold-out concertin the famous Olympia, Paris and a Victoire de la Musique award in 1991 for group of the year. Wearing a baseball cap, white vest, gaping shorts (which he removes during the showto reveal Y-fronts) and Nantes FC socks, the majestic Manou manipulates his dip netlike an Air-guitar and leads the rock combo. Then there's Kalou (the bassist with improbable coloured-shirts), Vincent (the drummer with a contagious good humour), Twistos (the guitarist in bermuda shorts) and Grand Lolo (the legendarytattooed guitar hero straight out of Los Angeles) who has replaced Kelu the originalguitarist. After a short break of nearly ten years, Elmer Food Beat took to the stage once again as guests at the 20th anniversary bash for the band EV at the Olympic in Nantes (2002) then again for the opening of the Nantes Zenith (2006). These acrobats of the g-string and bums 'n' tums who have matured with time like a good wine, havethus rekindled the hip-swinging energy and excitement of their earlier years and are now performing for two generations of delighted fans. The urge to write a new album of pop-rock love songs became immense so they set about the task with fervour and not just in "la salle de bain, le zgeg entre les mains !" Afterlong preliminaries, that which had to come, came and the new opus, « Les Rois duBord de Mer » (The Kings of the Seaside), will be released in October 2013. They asked artistic director Matthieu Ballet (Miossec, Alain Bashung, Alexis HK...) to work on their libido. We meet up with Pamela, as well as a handyman in Electroménager (Electrical appliances) and hear of a general crush for blonds, brunettes and redheads in Mon Coeur Balance (My hesitating heart).
