董科鑫是中国为数不多以非洲打击乐为主的专业打击乐手和音乐教育家。从幼儿至成人有多支不同的非洲鼓乐团及世界打击乐团,董科鑫经常在各地表演并举办非洲鼓教学研讨会。曾多次前往非洲几内亚及塞内加尔进行非洲鼓的学习,同时多次受邀前往欧洲参加西非打击乐艺术节,并且两次在几内亚首都科纳克里进行南北音乐节的演出,曾与许多乐团合作演出,包括交响乐,民族音乐,西洋打击乐,世界音乐与音乐剧的演出,涉猎风格广泛。
出版多本关于非洲鼓演奏及教学的专业书籍,影响各地专业打击乐教师及音乐工作者促进非洲鼓及世界打击乐的普及发展。
2018年受外交部邀请在人民大会堂中非论坛举行的欢迎仪式上为非洲各国元首进行非洲鼓表演。

Dong Ke Xin is among the rare professional percussionists and music educators in China primarily focused on African percussion. He leads various African drumming bands and world percussion ensembles ranging from early childhood to adult levels, frequently performing and conducting drumming workshops across various venues. He has traveled to Guinea and Senegal on multiple occasions to study African drumming, and has been invited to the West African Percussion Festival in Europe. Furthermore, he has performed at the North South Music Festival in Conakry, the capital of Guinea, on two occasions. Kexin Dong has collaborated with numerous orchestras, performing in genres such as symphonic, ethnic, Western percussion, world music, and musicals, showcasing a diverse range of styles. He has authored numerous professional books on African drumming and teaching, significantly influencing percussion educators and musicians worldwide to advance the popularization and development of African and world percussion music. In 2018, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kexin Dong performed African drumming for African heads of state during the welcoming ceremony of the China-Africa Forum at the Great Hall of the People.
