Trey Landry was born in south Louisiana where he was raised in a widely diverse mixture of music and culture. He played his first paying club gig at the age of 14. Trey spent the rest of his teen years cultivating his style in the bars, clubs and festivals of Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette as well as up and down the Gulf Coast. At age 19 Trey packed up his drums and moved to Hollywood California to attend the Percussion Institute of Technology. Here he would study under the guidance of Joe Porcaro and Ralph Humphrey.
After graduation Trey returned to Louisiana and began a musical journey that would see him tour the world with accordion greats Chubby Carrier and Wayne Toups, rock the Baton Rouge college scene with Chris Leblanc, gig as a full time percussionist and work with recent Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Percy Sledge.
In 2000, Trey moved to Nashville and in 2001 began playing with Rodney Crowell. He would tour nationally and internationally with Rodney for most of the next 4 years. Along the way Trey worked with Delbert McClinton, Suzy Bogguss, and was a member of the group Hot Apple Pie.
He is currently on the road with Chuck Wicks.
