Kill Tony
プロフィール
Drummer and percussionist Michael A. Gonzales first picked up sticks at the age of 12 after joining the band at Stillman Middle School in Brownsville, TX. While his formal musical training began later than many, his love for rhythm was cultivated much earlier, inspired by countless hours listening to his father’s vinyl record collection and developing a deep appreciation for music.
Michael went on to attend The University of Texas at Austin, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the acclaimed Butler School of Music.
Since graduating, Michael has become a fixture in the Austin music scene, performing with an impressive and diverse roster of artists including Keith Urban, Marcus King, Zac Brown, Charley Crockett, Jelly Roll, Gary Clark Jr., Isaiah Sharkey, Teddy Swims, Rob Schneider, Adam Ray, and The Peterson Brothers. He also he serves as the house drummer for the #1 live podcast in the world, Kill Tony, hosted by Tony Hinchcliffe and Brian Redban.
Based in Austin, Texas, Michael remains highly active as a performer, session musician, and educator. He regularly plays gigs around town, records in the studio, teaches private lessons from his East Austin studio, and stays healthy and fit through training at Korrect Fitness.
