David Perez was born in Brooklyn, New York, and is a multi-percussionist with a Bachelor Degree in Percussion Performance (cum-laude) from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. Perez has vast experience in different music styles such as Latin, Jazz, Classical, Brazilian, and others. Perez has performed with artists like Jeff Kashiwa (ex sax player from Rippingtones), jazz guitarist Steve Oliver, Ben E. King, Cece Winans, Ron Kenoly, and the jazz vibraphonist Arthur Lipher, to name a few. David currently performs with the keyboardist/arranger/composer Raymond Torres and his jazz band. He also has his own band called Jazz Spy. David has also written jingles for companies like Sprint, Suzuki, and has recorded with Frankie Suarez, Ruben Sierra, Charlie Hernandez and Ron Kennedy. He has been active as an educator, providing clinics and workshops for many universities. David Perez is proudly endorsed by Pearl Percussion and also uses custom instruments by Juracan Percussion.
