Wally Schnalle Grooves ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ with John Garcia

Bay Area’s finest, Wally Schnalle, has posted some stellar drum-cam footage from a recent gig at Biscuit and Blues in San Francisco, CA, performing an instrumental version of the classic, “Ain’t No Sunshine”, which can be viewed below.  For this particular gig, Wally loaned his impeccable drumming talents to Grammy Nominated blues legend, John Garcia, who’s lengthy resume includes names such as B.B. King, John Lee Hooker Jr., John Hammond, Huey Lewis and the News, Paul Simon, Bo Diddley, and countless others.
As seen in the drum-cam footage, Wally turned to a beautiful set of Pearl’s Crystal Beat drums for this hit, in his preferred and traditional four-piece setup, and finished in Ruby Red.  Wally’s full specs can be viewed here.

Wally Schnalle is widely known throughout the drumming community for his near-25-years of transcribing drum notation for DRUM! Magazine, along with being a prominent member of the Bay Area jazz scene and a highly regarded and sought after drum instructor.  On those rare nights when he isn’t being hired out for session work, Wally can be found performing with his own and very original project, Idiot Fish, which fuses a plethora of various genres including jazz, fusion, electronic dance music (EDM), and others.  More information on Wally Schnalle can be found at
