Matty Amendola - The Music Comes First

"The music comes first" was head producer/owner, and Pearl artist, Matty Amendola's mindset when he began 825 Records, as he stepped from the artist's shoes into those of a businessman's. Besides running the boutique indie label, Matty has also produced and played on every release, having his Pearl Masters Premium drums lay down the structure and backbone for each 825 Records artist.

Last month, Matty celebrated the one year anniversary of the 560 page coffee table book, "Sticks 'n' Skins", in Los Angeles. Fotos by Follets photographers traveled to 53 cities in four countries and photographed over 500 drummers, illuminating the eclectic world of drumming. The book, including autographed pages of Matty and hundreds of other drummers, has recently been submitted to the Grammy Museum, as well as a copy in the legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Matty also appears on the recently released “Swinging Guitar Sounds of Young America: Volume Two” from former Joe Jackson guitarist Vinnie Zummo. Matty is featured on drums as well as a lot of other special guests: John Sebastian, Mike Mainieri, Mark Egan, Janice Zummo, Graham Maby, Dave Houghton, Gary Burke, The Alessi Brothers, Shawn Pelton, Scott Bennet (from the Brian Wilson Band), Robin Hitchcocke, Ray Marchica, Bill Stuart, and many more. It's an album any music lover should own!
