Deep Purple Announce Live Double-Album
Rock legends, Deep Purple, are releasing a pair of live concert albums, titled, …From The Setting Sun… (In Wacken), and, …To The Rising Sun… (In Tokyo), which are both scheduled to be released on September 18th via earMUSIC. Filmed live from the band’s 2014 performances at Wacken Open Air Fest in Germany, and also their set at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, respectively, both titles will be released on CD and DVD, with the Tokyo set also available on Blu-ray and the Wacken on Blu-ray 3D. Earlier this week, Deep Purple- whose lineup includes Pearl Artist and drumming icon, Ian Paice- released a clip from their Tokyo set, a live performance of “Perfect Strangers”, which can be viewed below.
Deep Purple is currently touring behind their 2013 studio release, Now What?!, which stands as their 19th studio effort, and first album since 2005’s Rapture of the Deep. The North America leg of the “Now What? World Tour” is scheduled to wrap up this weekend at the Fantasy Springs Event Center, in Indio, Ca, before heading overseas for a late year European run. A full list of tour dates can be found at www.DeepPurple.com.
Throughout the full extent of Deep Purple’s monumental world tour, including the Waken and Nippon Budokan performances, longstanding Pearl Artist, Ian Paice, has relied upon a set of Masters Series drums in his signature and unmistakable 3-up, 4-down setup, and centered by the 14x6.5 Beaded Steel Ian Paice Signature Snare drum. More information on Ian Paice, including full kit specs, can be found here.
