Electronic Drums EPro Live
ePro Live is a revolutionary electronic drumset that looks, feels and sounds like real drums. Never before has today's drummer been offered the limitless sonic capability and realistic feel of electronic drums on a drumset built with real drum shells, real brass cymbals, and real drumset hardware, all from the percussion industry's leader, Pearl.
Features

The real look of the ePro Live starts with the real sizes of the drums. The set features 10", 12" and 14" toms, a 14" snare drum, and a 20" bass drum, so the drummer no longer has to change their playing mechanics to adjust to a set full of 8" practice pads.
The next component contributing to the real look of the drums is the real wood shells. Authentic Pearl shells, drum hardware and drum finishes adorn both versions of ePro Live. By exchanging the Tru-Trac Electronic Drumheads with regular drumheads, you can transform your electronic kit to an acoustic kit.
Five finishes are available:
- Quilted Maple Fade
- Red Glass
- Diamond Glitter
- Vintage Orange Glass
- Vintage Green Glass

Module

All of these great components couldn't reach their full potential without rich drum and percussion sounds generated from the r.e.d.box drum module (r.e.d. stands for Real Electronic Drums). The r.e.d.box massive 128MB RAM capacity accommodates 1000 High Definition Sounds, 100 High Definition kits, plus space for 100 user-created kits.
One very unique and exciting capability of Pearl's r.e.d.box is the Memory Switch, which gives you the ability to flash the memory and substitute a lush, super high-end drum set for the original acoustics. Pearl has partnered with professional digital drum samplers Toontrack, Zildjian, and Steven Slate Drums, to provide the lush kits through a new website:
The RBM-20MUL r.e.d.box drum module is available for purchase as a standalone item.
Coming in February - r.e.d.BOX MODULE FIRMWARE update at RedBoxSoundShop.com
The RBM-20MUL r.e.d.box drum module will be equipped with 150 newly reprogrammed drumsets, E-Pro Live offers more visual appeal and audio realism than ever before. Upgrades include a software update and remix for the original 100 preloaded kits, as well as the addition of 50 new custom programs that run the gamut from acoustic, hybrid, electronic, effects, and one-man Rhythm Sections.
E-Pro Live’s upgrades breathe new life into the industry leading electronic drumset. The software
update is available FREE on RedBoxSoundshop.com and installs with ease.
RedBox 2.0 software updates provide an enhanced dynamic range and sensitivity to give drummers the expression needed to appreciate the nuances of the lightest ghost notes and softest buzz rolls on stage or in the studio. Every kit has been modified to use the pitch-to-velocity function which allows samples to change in pitch when played at different velocities, creating a more realistic performance and reducing the unwanted triggering that is evident in most modules. E-Pro Live now supports the addition of 2 extra crash cymbals which require no additional programming when inserted to trigger inputs #10 and #11. Additional improvements have been made on the panning, EQ, and effects to provide the highest quality sonorities for recording or live performances.
Drum Hardware

Real Hardware. No one makes better hardware than Pearl, and the foundation of ePro Live starts with the modified DR-80E Icon e-Rack. The rack is expandable to add more drums and cymbals for larger configurations. All hardware is covered by Pearl's Lifetime Warranty.
- DR-80E Icon e-Rack
- PCL-100 Pipe Clamp x 3
- CLH-80E Hi-Hat Holder
- CH-80 Cymbal Holder x 2
- TH-900S Tom Holder x 3

- UX-80 Universal Clamp
- S-790W Snare Stand
All of the hardware items listed are available as separate components.
Heads

What makes the ePro Live drumset truly different than other electronic drumsets is the real feel and response from the pads. Pearl's Tru-Trac Electronic Heads feature dual-zones that reproduce all of the intricacies the drummer is used to hearing when you play an acoustic drum. The smooth coating on the heads makes moving from drum to drum fast and easy.
Tru-Trac Conversion Kits are now available in four configurations: 10/12/16/14 and 12/13/16/14 with your choice of plastic or metal cymbals

1,000 High Definition Sounds, 100 High-Def kits, and 100 User Programmable Kits
- What is the size / format of a flashed kit?
The "flashable" kits will utilize up to 127MB of the REDBOX's RAM.
- Is this General Midi?
General Midi isn't recognized on Trasmit/Export. Partially on Recognize/Import. GM Drum Sounds compatitable.
- Are the sounds sampled Pearl kits and will there be any in the future?
Yes, some of the sounds are Pearl drums and check www.redboxsoundshop.com for updates.
- Can I easily assign multi-effects to the direct outs?
Yes, there are many effects, including reverb, flanger, chorus, vibrato, delay, EQ, and compression that can be applied. One effect per "Kit" can be used.
- Why are my rim sounds at one volume no matter how lightly or hard I hit them?
This is because the rim trigger is an ON/OFF switch and it doesn't have any dynamics.
- When I hit one pad another pad will play too. How do I correct this?
The Cross Talk control in the Trigger Menu section allows you to set the value to eliminate cross talk. The higher the value, the less likely one pad will trigger another.
- When someone nearby stomps on the floor, my pads trigger. How do I correct this?
Increase the value of the Threshold control until the false triggering is eliminated.
- I'm not getting a full range of dynamics from my pads. How do I correct this?
You may have the sensitivity set too high. Try lowering the sensitivity and the threshold and see if the dynamic range improves.
- I'm getting double-hits on the rim of my snare drum. How do I correct this?
The switch trigger in the rim is very sensitive and can be triggered accidently by hits just glancing the rim. Please adjust your technique or lower your drum to minimize hitting the rim accidentally.
- Can I get cross stick and rimshot on the rim of my snare drum at the same time?
No. The switch triggers we us in our rims cannot be programmed to be rimshot and cross stick at the same time. It can, however, be one or the other.
- My pads are not picking up everything I play. How do I correct this?
Try the Retrigger Control. Lowering the setting allows the REDBOX to capture minute and closer-spaced playing such as buzz rolls.
- Even when I play evenly, the sound varies. Why is this?
The REDBOX uses a "Round Robin" protocol that automatically changes the samples being played to eliminate the "machine gun" effect
- How do you save the user defined kits?
Use SysEx Libraian for Mac and MidiOX for PC. See the Support tab at www.redboxsoundshop.com for detailed instructions.
