DCI 2013 Shows Announced

As the 2013 DCI season gets underway, Pearl/Adams corps are announcing their Summer productions, providing an insight into what drum corps fans can expect from the top marching ensembles in the world!

The 15-time and defending DCI World Champion Blue Devils look to defend their 2012 Championship with their production "The re:Rite of Spring".
2013 marks the 100th anniversary of Igor Stravinsky's debut of The Rite of Spring, a performance that sent concert-goers into a riot at its premier.  The Blue Devils are sure to put their spin on this iconic piece of concert literature.  The Blue Devils percussion section is also looking to repeat as the Fred Samford High Percussion Award recipients.
*Musical selections include: Rite of Spring - Igor Stravinsky, The Re-(w)Rite of Spring - Darryl Brenzel, Rite of Spring - Don Sebesky

The Phantom Regiment makes a boastful return to the Pearl/Adams roster, presenting their 2013 production "A Triumphant Journey".  The corps will tell the tale of a princess who flees from the capture of an evil queen.  The princess then enters an enchanted forest that comes alive, where she then gathers the strength and courage to fight the evil queen and rightfully take her seat at the throne.  The Phantom Regiment will be donning new uniforms this year, designed to incorporate the classic Phantom look with a touch of "knight's armor" on the right arm sleeve.
*Musical selections include: Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Craig Armstrong and A.R. Rahman, Cape Fear - Bernard Herrman, Four Sea Interludes - Benjamin Britten, Enigma Variations - Edward Elgar, Symphonie No. 11 - Dimitri Shostakovich,

Perennial DCI Finalist Spirit of Atlanta looks to continue its tradition of entertaining shows with its 2013 production "Speakeasy".

The Troopers are proud to present their 2013 production "The Magnificient 11".  "The American West has always represented a sense of beauty, grit, and uncompromised passion seen in the wide open spaces that make sup the region.  The West was a place where battles were fought, towns were created, and dreams were fulfilled.  The imagery that makes up this time period continues to fill the imaginiations of people today, wondering what life was like in the uncharted territories of the American Frontier"
*Musical selections include: The Magnificent Seven - Elmer Bernstein, John Dunbar Theme from "Dances with Wolves" - John Barry, Battle Hymn of the Republic - Julia Ward Howe, Original compositions by Robert W. Smith

The Cascades hail from Seattle, WA and are perennial DCI Semifinalists.  With Pearl/Adams Artist Nick Molenda as the newly appointed Percussion Caption head, The Cascades look to raise the bar even further with their 2013 production "Inescapable".

The defending Open Class High Percussion Award recipient Blue Devils B present their 2013 production "Warped".  "The way we percieve the world around us defines that which we experience.  A lush rose garden or a heap of junk are both beautiful when viewed through the correct lens.  This year, Blue Devils B looks to challenge your perception of what is right in front of you."
*Musical selections include: The Legend of Alcobaca - James Sochinski, Bizarro - Michael Daugherty, Serenada Schizphrana - Danny Elfman, Original music by John Meehan, Dave Glyde, and Brian Dinkel
