Warbringer Drummer Offers Updates from the Studio

American thrashers, Warbringer, have been spending the majority of their summer days locked inside The Omen Room Studios, in Garden Grove, CA, working on their fourth studio album which is scheduled to drop this upcoming October.  Luckily for us, Warbringer drummer, and Pearl artist, Carlos Cruz brought along his trusty video camera into the studio with him, to give us fans some insight into the recording process of the album, which is currently being dubbed “Album IV”, and to show off the new Session Studio Classic drum kit he picked up shortly before hitting the studio.  Carlos’ in-studio update can be seen below.
In regards to the recording process, Carlos Cruz comments:
"Moving forward with our fourth full-length album has been a tremendous feat for the band and we are proud of the album we've written.  The growth of the band with two new members (guitarist Jeff Potts and bassist Ben Mottsman) has produced a very eclectic-sounding album that covers a lot of musical ground within the heavy metal genre. It's been a true collaboration and all five members have been able to write and contribute something new to the collective Warbringer sound. We hope all our fans will keep an open-mind towards our musical growth, but we promise no one will be disappointed.

"Deciding to work with Steve Evetts again was the best decision for the group because of our prior experience with him. His personality, attention to detail and ability to sonically capture what the band represents will make for an amazing fourth-album experience. Two years is a long time to improve upon your craft, so we're excited to see what has become of Steve as a producer, and for him to see what has become of Warbringer since our last album."

Before stepping into the studio, Carlos Cruz lobbed a call to Pearl Drums to order a new Session Studio Classic kit specifically for the recording of “Album IV” and for the album’s supporting tour dates.  Finished in the classy Piano Black Lacquer (103), Carlos turned to the blend of birch and kapur found in the Session Studio Classic’s shells in order to achieve the well-rounded, dynamic tones, along with the signature chest-pounding lows that the Sessions have become known for.  Carlos’ full specs are as follow:

Session Studio Classic:
Piano Black (103)

22x16 bass drum x2
10x7 tom
12x8 tom
14x14 floor tom
16x16 floor tom
14x6.5 Masters MCX snare drum

In support of Warbringer’s “Album IV” project, the band will be hitting the road later this fall alongside Kreator and Overkill.  To witness the stellar and blazingly fast drumming of Pearl’s Carlos Cruz, and to catch his Session Studio Classic drums in action, please be sure to check out the full list of tour dates for this upcoming fall tour, which can be found below.  More information on Carlos Cruz and Warbringer can be found at
