The Faceless Take Over the Sunset Strip

Last week, the city of Los Angeles was turned upside-down due to an incredible performance from Alex Rudinger and The Faceless, who rolled through the Entertainment Capital of the World and completely dismantled the Sunset Strip with an absolutely dominating set at the House of Blues- Hollywood.  The hard-hitting quartet of insanely talented musicians briefly stopped back in their hometown of Los Angeles on their current North American Tour, which will be continuing its way around the US and Canada for the next 3 weeks, bringing along their ferocious set of technical time signatures and aggressive death metal.  The Faceless is currently touring in support of their latest studio masterpiece, Autotheism, which was released in August of 2012 courtesy of Sumerian Records.  Autotheism debuted at the No. 50 position on the Billboard Top 200 Charts- a remarkable feat for the technical death metal genre- along with ranking No. 3 on the Top Hard Rock Albums, and No. 13 on the Top Independent albums.

Pearl artist, Alex Rudinger, has become one of the most talked about drummers in this tight-knit drumming community over the past few years, mostly in part to his highly popular YouTube Channel, which draws hundreds-of-thousands of viewers who become instantaneously amazed by the blistering speed, complex time signature changes, and overall technicality that Alex Rudinger masterfully displays.  Throughout each complicated play-along video he records, and throughout his work with The Faceless, Alex’s remarkable independence is ever present, with an ambidextrous technique of constantly switching between left and right hand leads that reigns reminiscent of Mike Mangini, Virgil Donati, and other world renown drummers.  On this current tour with The Faceless, Alex is bashing away on a Piano Black Session Studio Classic drum kit, opting for the punchy-low end and stunning projection of the birch/kapur blended shells, along with the short-depth toms which help to emit a quicker response, and depicts all of Alex’s notes.  Alex’s full specs are as follow:
