Santana Announces Two-Year Las Vegas Residency

Carlos Santana is thrilled to announce that he's returning to Las Vegas for an exciting two-year residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay stage, beginning May 2, 2012. For 80 nights a year, “Greatest Hits Live- Santana: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow” will appear at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, taking Santana fans on a musical adventure throughout Carlos’ extraordinary 40-year career. The 1,500 capacity House of Blues offers fans a more intimate setting than that of Santana’s residency last year at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, which has a capacity of 4,000. With the title of the residency being “Greatest Hits Live- Santana: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow”, the show will include various guests appearing sporadically throughout its tenure.

“Tomorrow is the unknown, so how do you rehearse the unknown?” says Carlos Santana, speaking on his new Las Vegas residency. "To me, the unknown is inviting African musicians to join us, or Buddy Guy or Derek Trucks or Ben Harper, people from Phish, Warren Haynes — that's what 'Tomorrow' is bringing to the House of Blues.”

"I call it a living laboratory," he said. "We play the beginning [of a set] and we play the end, but in the middle, we're going to create some experimentation so you can witness a backward flip into the unknown. In other words, there's no set list in the middle. We will create something so you can just close your eyes and go on a journey with us."

Legendary drummer, and Pearl artist, Dennis Chambers will accompany Carlos Santana throughout the Las Vegas residency, bringing his endless supply of rudimental perfection night after night. Dennis will be playing on his new Reference Pure drum set in Vegas, which he debuted on Carlos Santana’s west coast amphitheater tour last October.
The Store will be preselling tickets to the first batch of these shows, starting Monday, February 27 at 10 am PST. For more information, please visit
