Ray Luzier Jams Out for ‘Whiplash’ Special Feature

Korn drummer and Pearl Artist, Ray Luzier, has released some killer new footage of an impromptu jam session held at his Nashville-based recording studio that can be viewed below.  This spectacular footage was shot specifically for a special feature documentary titled Timekeepers, which is included on the Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital HD formats of the Oscar winning independent film Whiplash, starring J.K. Simmons and Miles Teller.  Timekeepers is a forty-minute documentary hosted by the drumming community’s biggest names including Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Ray Luzier (Korn/KXM) and several others, who discuss the various aspects of their respective careers and the always-evolving music world.
As seen in the video, Ray Luzier is flying around his Reference Pure drums, which were specifically designed to reside at his in-home studio in Nashville, TN.  Ray’s Reference Pure kit is configured in the same specs as the Reference Series drums that he uses while on the road with Korn, but with the thinner plies of the Reference Pure shells offering more open and resonant tones- which Ray finds to be ideal for the studio.  More information on Ray Luzier, including full specs on his Reference Pure studio setup, can be found here.
