Nick Augusto Introduces New Project- Corrosion
Pearl Artist, Nick Augusto, has officially introduced his long-awaited new project, Corrosion, releasing the band’s debut single, “Machine Says No” which can be heard below. Along with Nick’s tremendous talents on drums, this hard-hitting quartet includes Christopher Cussell of Before the Mourning, and is rounded out by Tommy Hjelm and Martin Rygge, of the Norway-based metal band, Insense. With the lineup finalized, Nick Augusto and Corrosion hit the studio to record their debut EP with producer Jason Suecof (Trivium, Chimaira). In regards to the new project and forthcoming EP, Nick Augusto states:
“The idea for this project came together right after me and Trivium parted ways… All of us in Corrosion were friends already so it just felt right to start it up. Nick continues, "I was an Insense fan, so going for a long shot, them being all the way in Norway, and I wanted to play in a band with them. We talked through e-mails and made it happen. We just wrote three songs and felt like it was a good introduction and a full-length will come eventually. What you hear on this EP is just what we felt at the time, and that’s what came out, and it felt pretty damn good and clicked right away."
For the recording of Corrosion’s debut EP, Nick Augusto turned to his custom black-on-black Masterworks Series kit, complete with 4-ply maple shells, and topped with a 14x6.5 Reference Series snare drum. More information on Nick Augusto can be found here.
