Korn: New Album, Live Concert, and Headlining Mayhem

Last week has been one of the biggest in the history of the legendary rock band Korn, and for Pearl artist Ray Luzier. The highly anticipated new studio album, Korn III, finally hit the shelves receiving rave reviews from loyal Korn fans worldwide and from the biggest metal websites and magazines around. Korn III, marked the first album Korn has released off of Roadrunner Records, and marks the 3rd album they have done with producer Ross Robinson, who produced their first 2 albums, in hopes of bringing Korn back to their original roots.

Alongside the new album, Korn also released a new live concert which was shot in the cornfields of Bakersfield, the bands hometown. The hour and 20 minute concert was released in North America on July 11th via HDnet and internationally via Myspace on the 12th. The live concert, which was filmed in late June, featured the debut of Ray Luzier’s new Reference Series kit which was custom built for Korn’s headlining run on the Mayhem Festival which is currently touring around the US. With the dropping of the new album and live concert, Korn has also planned several US and European headlining tours to follow up their recent releases. Currently, Ray and the band are headlining the biggest metal festival of the summer, The Mayhem Festival. Alongside Joey Jordison and Rob Zombie, Korn will be rocking the main stage of Mayhem from now until August 14th. Shortly after, Korn will be taking their highly anticipated live show across the drink for a headlining tour through Japan and the United Kingdom.
